Mr. Au’s practice focuses on the development and enforcement of patent and other IP rights both domestically and abroad. Fluent in Chinese, Mr. Au has coupled his entrepreneurial background and passion for technology with his legal expertise to take on a diverse range of intellectual property law matters.

Mr. Au has represented clients from individual inventors to Fortune Global 500 companies in patent and IP related matters. Mr. Au’s experience in various practice areas enables him to offer a diverse range of services, including patent and trademark prosecution, IP counseling and portfolio management, invalidity and freedom to operate opinions, IP due diligence, technology transactions, and IP litigation.

Mr. Au has previously practiced patent and IP law at both international and boutique law firms in Washington, D.C. and Colorado. Profile

Mr. DePeppe, a former advisor to the White House 60-Day Cyberspace Policy Review, has fashioned a niche practice as a cyber-risk attorney, as well as possessing diverse expertise across multiple cyberspace verticals. He helps businesses design and implement commercially reasonable security practices to mitigate the growing liability exposure from cybersecurity threats. Data breach response, privacy, compliance, legislation, law enforcement and national security assistance, forensics analysis, and national and international engagements related to public-private partnerships and cyber-threat information sharing frameworks are part of Mr. DePeppe’s portfolio. He offers expertise in all facets of the law and policy dimensions to the cybersecurity challenge, in both the commercial and government spaces.

Mr. DePeppe has been centrally involved in national-level and leading commercial cybersecurity initiatives for a decade. Not a newcomer to the cyberlaw practice, Mr. DePeppe’s deep background includes service for two White House cybersecurity initiatives. His appointment as a Subject Matter Expert was cited in the White House-directed, Energy Department report: Electricity Subsector Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model (ES-C2M2) released in 2012.

Mr. DePeppe engages in a multidisciplinary practice and is Co-founder of the Western Cyber Exchange, a seminal regional threat information exchange and cyber-resilience center with regional affiliations across the Nation’s landscape. Previously, Mr. DePeppe was the legal advisor to US-CERT and the National Cyber Security Division, Department of Homeland Security. He retired from the Army JAG Corps in 2008, and served as legal advisor to the Army Network Operations Security Center, Army Knowledge Online (AKO) portal, and as operations counsel supporting computer network operations and space operations functioning in support of a command in a theater of operations. He also has extensive experience related to all facets of Defense and Homeland Security programs and initiatives to integrate cybersecurity efforts across the interagency, state and local governments, the private sector and critical infrastructure. As such, he is well-versed in the privacy, constitutional, and role of government issues that permeate the emergent cybersecurity challenge facing government, industry, and society.

Dr. Dupray has over two decades of experience assisting high-tech companies with obtaining patent protection, analyzing patent-related risks and monetization opportunities and assisting in patent litigation.

Dr. Dupray’s practice includes prosecuting patent applications both domestically and abroad, involving a wide range of technologies.  Dr. Dupray also counsels clients on portfolio strategies, patent validity and infringement, and freedom to market new products.

Dr. Dupray has counseled clients in a number of different technical areas including internet/network related inventions, electrical devices, software, encryption, business methods, wireless, signal processing, gaming, mechanical devices, orthodontics, medical devices, computer-aided design and mathematics related inventions.

Mr. Hawranek has over a decade of experience and his practice includes most areas of intellectual property law with an emphasis on intellectual property portfolio management and analysis, due diligence investigations, patent reexamination proceedings, and pre-litigation analysis.

Mr. Hawranek has extensive experience prosecuting patent applications both domestically and abroad.  Mr. Hawranek’s diverse practice has enabled him to provide full service and complex strategic counseling to domestic and international clients with respect to U.S. patent validity and infringement issues, as well as matters involving patentability and priority of invention issues.

Mr. Hawranek has counseled clients in a number of different technical areas including medical devices, semiconductor devices and methods of making the same, consumer products, chemical related inventions, electrical related inventions, software, encryption, and business methods.

Mr. Hawranek has previously practiced at major law firms in Washington, D.C. and Colorado, and as in-house counsel for a large international medical device company.  Prior to his law firm experience, Mr. Hawranek was a patent examiner at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office examining semiconductor devices and processes.  Before starting his intellectual property career, Mr. Hawranek worked as a research and development engineer making semiconductor equipment.

Mr. Sheets has over twenty years of experience counseling companies on a variety of intellectual property issues.
